Engineering Aide I

Under the supervision of the VP of Engineering, the Engineering Aide performs many different support functions for the Engineering Department. The work is varied, requires a flexible attitude and changes over time as the company grows and systems change.

Duties and Responsibilities

Document Control - Miscellaneous document control functions

  • Create, maintain and modify Autocad assembly level drawings

  • Control and track Document Change Orders (DCO’s)

  • Control drawing releases

  • Create new Autocad drawings: transistor, pallet, misc eng items

  • Maintain and modify existing Autocad drawings

  • Maintain and modify Work Instructions


MAX System Documents

  • BOM creation and maintenance

  • Router creation and maintenance


Various engineering support functions include –

  • General electronic assembly

  • Engineering CAD drawings

  • DC and RF Test

  • RF Test Fixture Drawing LPKF conversion file translation

  • PCB Milling with the LPKF machine

  • Aid in material procurement – pricing, lead times, quotes, requisitions

  • Aid in sample Evaluation Kit preparation and shipping

  • Scan and archive engineering work orders

  • Maintain Engineering Stockroom MAX part numbers, inventory

  • Machine Shop: RFQ’s, drawings, PO’s and tracking

  • Obtain test equipment repair quotations and track repair items

  • Failure Analysis photography

  • Engineering prototype shipments to offsite facilities


Lab organization – support various organization and filing requirements within the department.


Maintain a well organized work area.


Understand, comply, and support customer and ISO regulatory requirements.


Understand, comply, and support Integra Technologies policies and procedures.


Assist in other production areas as needed.


Responsible for performing assigned tasks in accordance with applicable safety regulations and instructions, as well as correcting unsafe work habits and practices and/or bringing to the attention of the Safety Committee or a supervisor any practice or condition that may be detrimental to the safety and health of the employees. You also have a responsibility to cooperate in all safety or health-related programs and assist in solving safety and health problems. Participation in daily exercise programs, including group conditioning movements and stretches, are mandatory. Violations of safety directives and procedures will be handled in accordance with the established Company disciplinary process.


Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent 1 year industry experience. Basic computer skills preferred. Autocad drawing software experience.

  • Ability to read, speak, write, and understand the English language. Ability to understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to round numbers to the nearest whole number, tenths, hundredths, or thousandths

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to lift, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Integra provides Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to an employee when the job duties require special tools or safety equipment. Once PPE is issued and training has been conducted in the use of PPE, it is the employee’s responsibility to utilize any PPE issued in accordance with safety requirements.
